The Boardman JV Football Team improved to 2-0 on the season with a 20-16 win over Ursuline.
After a scoreless first quarter, the Spartan defense started the scoring when Isaiah Torres stripped an Irish runner and scampered into the end zone for a 6-0 lead. On the following Boardman possession, Colin Thomas hit Logan Thompson for a 65 yard touchdown. Thomas then connected with Patrick Dorazio for the 2 point conversion.
In the 3rd quarter, Thomas and Thompson connected once again for the Spartans 3rd score on a 12 yard pass. Fernando Ortiz, Marcel Tomlin and Ashton LaBelle carried the rushing load for the Spartans.
Defensive standouts were LaBelle, Jared Mahood, Isaiah Torres, Caleb French and Daniel Fetty.
The JV Football Team will take on Howland 10:30 next Saturday, September 19th at Spartan Stadium.
