The Boardman Girl’s team pulled an upset win over Akron Firestone in a Quad meet format
with teams from Canfield and Warren Harding. The Boardman Girls only won two events but
used their team depth to pull out the win. “Akron Firestone has quite a few returning state
level competitors. They are well known for their traditional excellence. For our team to stay
with them and pull the meet out during the 400 free relay at the end shows the
competitiveness of our team. They like to race!” Coach Cordon exclaimed.

Single event winners include: Mikel Flatley 50 Freestyle (25.14) and Madison Ricciuti 1 Meter Diving.

Boardman’s 200 Free and 400 Free relays placed first and sealed the meet for the Spartans, beating out rival Akron Firestone by .05 seconds! These members include: Mikel Flatley, Ali Kuras, Alyssa DiNapoli, and Jennah Markovitch.

The Girl’s record now stands at 10-2. The team will close out it’s season next week vs. Poland, GlenOak, and Canton McKinley.
