The Boardman girls basketball team went on the road and dropped a 65-43 contest to Warren Harding. The Harding press got the Raiders off to a 16-4 start before the Spartans settled in to cut it to 9 at halftime. Boardman would get it to 47-41 midway through the fourth quarter before running out of gas and having Harding close the game on a big run to put the game away. The Spartans put 3 players in double digits with Cailyn Covan and Katie Stamp each netting 12 points and Raegan Burkey hitting for 11. Covan’s 12 points all came on three pointers. Burkey missed most of the first quarter after getting hit in the face and couldn’t get her nose to stop bleeding. She returned late in the first quarter to hit a big three pointer as the buzzer sounded. Alicia Saxton hit for 6 points, while Bailey Moore chipped in with 2. The seniors will be sent off Monday night at home against the Cardinal Mooney Cardinals.
