Boardman finished off the regular season with an impressive road win at Ursuline, 63-46. The Spartans jumped out to a 10-0 lead behind good ball movement and tough defense, eventually leading 20-6 after the first quarter. The score was 38-18 at half with Boardman maintaining their cushion throughout the second half to earn the victory.
Luke Ryan had a big night to lead the Spartans with 4 three-pointers on his way to 17 points. Anthony Hightower continued to play well with 11 points and 2 steals. D.J. Evans was the 3rd Spartan in double figures with 10 points to go with 4 rebounds and 2 assists. Trey DePietro put in 7 points to go with 9 strong rebounds. Ethan Andersen battled double teams all night on his way to 4 points, while controlling the paint with 12 rebounds and 2 blocks, also giving out 6 assists. Spencer Smith connected for 4 points and 2 assists. Marco Stilliana and Ben Alvarico each connected for 3 points, Alvarico also giving out 3 assists. Seth Cervello put in two points to go with 3 steals, 3 rebounds and 3 assists. Ty Ventresco muscled in a tough shot for 2 points to go with 4 rebounds and 1 block.
Boardman finishes the regular season with a 15-5 (8-0) record. The Spartans will begin tournament action next Saturday, hosting the winner of Uniontown Lake and North Canton Hoover in the sectional final.
