Boardman hosted a talented team on Saturday, Erie First Christian Academy and came away with a 67-42 win. The game was close until midway in the 3rd quarter when the Spartans were able to create some separation, eventually leading by 12 heading into the 4th quarter. Good execution and solid defense put the game away.
Derrick Anderson stuffed the stat sheet with 19 points, 7 assists, 7 steals and 7 rebounds. Che Trevena had a good all around game with 11 points, 5 rebound, 3 assists and 3 steals. Tommy Fryda has 8 points and 3 steals. Zach Ryan and Cam Kreps both had 7 points to go along with great defense. Kreps grabbed 5 rebounds while Ryan snagged 3 steals. Nick Torres continued to shoot the ball well, making 2 of 3 from beyond the arch for 6 points. Ethan Andersen battled big bodies inside to get 4 points and 8 rebounds to go with 2 blocked shots. Charlie Davis nailed a 3 ball and Daeone Martin rounded out the scoring with 2 points. Connor Miller and Shay Eicher had a big contributions on both ends with energy and activity, Eicher grabbing 4 rebounds.
The win was Boardman’s 12 in a row, improving their record to 16-3 on the season. The Spartans travel to Louisville on Tuesday for a tough non-conference road game.
