The BHS girls basketball team visited Salem on Thursday night and came fast out of the gates to take a 31-22 lead into halftime. Salem, however came out with a big 3rd quarter to take a 41-39 lead into the 4th. A see saw battle in the 4th saw both teams knotted at 53 going into overtime. The Quakers made just a couple more big plays down the stretch to pull out the 60-56 win.

Leading the way for Boardman was Maria Torres who matched her uniform number with 23 points with 5 three point makes. Torres also pulled down 11 rebounds, had 2 assists, a steal and 3 blocks.

Also matching her uniform number was Raegan Burkey with 15 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocked shots.

Emma Tokarsky played a great floor game as she scored 7 points, grabbed 11 rebounds, dished out 5 assists had 2 steals and a block.

Gia Triveri played big minutes and added 4 points, 3 boards, 3 assists and 3 steals.

Emma Mills added 4 points and 7 rebounds in the contest.

Bailey Moore had an important 3 pointer for her 3 points.

Bella Martin again played solid defense and collected 3 rebounds and a steal on the night.

Boardman heads into the OHSAA tournament on Saturday night versus #5 seed Cuyahoga Falls. The game time is now a 7:30pm tip.
