Boys Varsity Track · Community Fundraiser Held On July 14th At Carmella’s Cafe To Buy New Racer Chair For Micah Beckwith, Boardman’s All-Ohio Track Athlete

Carmella’s Cafe will be hosting a fundraiser for Micah Beckwith, Boardman’s five-time All-Ohioan in track and field on Sunday, July 14th from noon – 4:00 p.m.  They have partnered with Mike Tomczak, Denise and Dan Gorski, and Coach John Phillips and the boys track boosters to have this special fundraiser.
Micah is in need of his own personal racer chair to continue training year round in his track events.  At the present time, he rents the chair from ASPO (Adaptive Sports Program of Ohio) for half of the year.  ASPO will help him in the selection of his permanent chair for his future year-round track training.
Carmella’s has partnered with former OSU quarterback and 16 year professional quarterback Mike Tomczak to help raise funds.  There will be food, a DJ, and a Chinese Auction as well as appearances by friends of Mike Tomczak.  Tickets are $25.00 each and are going fast.  If you can’t come and would like to make a donation, checks should be made out to The Boardman Boys Track Booster Fund.  They should be mailed to the Boardman Athletic Department in care of Denise Gorski at 7777 Glenwood Avenue.  If you have any other questions, please contact the athletic department at 330-726-3423.
