Boys Varsity Basketball · Spartan Nation Is Proud Of The Varsity Boys Basketball Team, Tremendous Season Ends With Most Wins In A Season Since 1974

The Boardman boys varsity basketball team lost a hard-fought battle to the Green Bulldogs in the District Semi-Finals.  But that loss will never tarnish the outstanding season the Spartans had this year, led by Head Coach Pat Birch.  The Spartans won their first AAC Conference Championship in the Red Tier and won a conference championship for the first time in 19 years.  They were Sectional Champions by defeating a strong Dover team before a near capacity and enthusiastic crowd at home.  The Spartans won 16 games in a row as they headed into District play.

Boardman may have ended it’s season with the loss to Green but they won the hearts of Spartan and Valley fans everywhere.  They finished the season with 20 wins and 4 losses, posting the most wins in a season since 1974.  Thank you to Coach Pat Birch, his coaching staff, and the young men who led this team to such great accomplishments.  The crowds came back to the gym, the atmosphere was exciting, and the Spirit Crew came out in force to support their peers.

Boardman boys basketball is back and this season will be one to remember forever.  Thank you Spartans for all of the special memories.
