Multiple Teams · Girls JV Basketball Team Now 10-6 on Season

The Boardman girls JV basketball team has won three out of their last four games in the past 2 weeks.  They defeated Hubbard back on January 14th by a score of 44-20 with sophomore Lauren Gabriele and senior Doricia Robinson leading the team with 10 points each.  Freshmen Riley Zawrotuk and Katelyn Sawyer each had 6 points.  On January 17th the Spartans played an impressive game against the JV team from Gilmour Academy and won by a score of 42-7.  Natalie Wilson led the team with 11 and Lauren Pavlansky had 8 points.  Gabriele, Robinson, Cheyanne Haywood and Kaylee Sorvillo each had 4 points.  On January 21st, the girls came up short against Canfield losing by a score of 38-30.  Wilson again led all Boardman scorers with 7, Marisa Hanna and Cassie Stitt had 5, and Gabriele scored 4 points.  On January 24th, the Lady Spartans gained their 10th win of the season as they soundly defeated Youngstown East 56-11.  Gabriele led all Boardman scorers with 12 points, Franchesca Cardillo scored 11 and Marisa Hanna had 8 points.  The JV team is now 10-6 overall on the season and has an AAC record of 3-4 in the Red Tier.
